At Sonoma Tilemakers, it all starts with passion and incredible people and a whole lot of clay. The result is an adventure for the eyes where the traditions of tile making and modern design are harmoniously combined. The rich textures, hand carved designs and fabulous color palette offers limitless design.
Ellen Blakeley makes urban mosaics using the grit of city life. Forget marble, gemstones, gold and silver smalti and even ceramics, this San Francisco artist's preferred medium is shattered safety glass salvaged from vandalized bus shelters and store windows. These raw materials give Blakeley's mosaics a street-smart sensibility. Fragments are the basic mosaic building blocks, but they also act as unobtrusive lenses to view collage images that lie beneath them. Bits of patterned paper, colored foil, drawings, photographs, and printed text are used to create different effects. Because thick pieces of glass often contain webs of internal fractures, the compositions have extraordinary refractive qualities.
Encore's collection of beautiful styles has positioned them on the forefront of ceramic design. While Encore has grown its collections to encompass a range of styles over the years, they haven't forgotten their initial inspiration, or their drive to push the envelope. Each piece is created by hand, pairing superior craftsmanship with eco-responsible manufacturing.
Each ceramic basin is created with your design and layout in mind. Artists hand-carve, hand paint each basin to the client's specifications to complete the overall look of an individual décor. Whether you are remodeling or adding new construction , Marzi Sinks can provide the finishing touch of personalized functional art.
For more than 30 years, McIntyre has successfully translated the studio pottery approach into an array of attractive, functional tile creations. Old World Ceramics produces authentic and historically accurate tiles and moldings. All of their products come from the regions of the world where they originated and are produced in a manner that comes as close as possible to the original method in which they were made in the past. The collection includes brightly painted tiles from Barcelona to Delft tiles from a small fishing village in Holland.
All Syzygy tile is made from high-fired terra cotta. Every piece is cut, slow-dried and bisque-fired before being hand glazed with brushes. Original designs are carved by hand into a clay tile, which is used to make a master mold from which the tiles are reproduced. These tiles are then cut and stamped individually by hand, each one a work of art in design and color made the old-fashioned way by artisans who take the time and pride to put their craftsmanship in each piece.
Latin Accents specializes in artisan ceramic tiles from the interior of Mexico. The history of Mexican talavera tiles began in the late 16th Century when potters from the Spanish city of Talavera de la Reina settled in Puebla, a two hours east of Mexico City. Today, talavera ceramics are found throughout the country. Latin Accent tiles possess a vibrancy of color, a delicacy of detail, and visible textures that comes from hand painting. Each tile is its own work of art.
